While all US hospitals are welcome to participate in Leapfrog's voluntary Hospital Quality and Safety Survey, Leapfrog formally invites hospitals in 33 regions across the US to do so. It is in these geographic areas that Leapfrog employer and employer-coalition members have made a voluntary commitment to encourage the hospitals in their communities to participate in publicly reporting their progress toward meeting Leapfrog's recommended quality and safety practices. These regions, called Regional Roll-Outs, cover areas that collectively represent over 50 percent of consumers and hospital beds in the US.  Find out more information about The Leapfrog Group Regional Roll-Outs.

Similarly, all US hospitals are welcome to participate in the Leapfrog Hospital Insights (LHI)program.  However, because the focus is on adult inpatient care, children's hospitals are not eligible to participate in the LHI.
