Many organizations use the results from the Leapfrog Hospital Survey for various reasons. Leapfrog members use the information in their communications with enrollees, for example. Health plans use the survey data in the provider recognition programs and contracting decisions among other things. Some vendors incorporate the Leapfrog data into provider decision support tools.  Hospitals can use the Leapfrog data to create standards and benchmarks for improvement in their own operations. Organizations wishing to receive hospital-specific scores for participating hospitals nationwide can license the full data set. The Leapfrog Group licenses its data to these and other organizations through its data disseminating agent, Thomson Healthcare. Organizations wishing to subscribe to these data must sign a data use agreement to become a registered data partner. The fees associated with becoming a Leapfrog Data Partner are used to support the ongoing costs of administering the Leapfrog Hospital Survey.
