Thank you for your interest in Leapfrog’s hospital public reporting initiatives.  These initiatives offer valuable benchmarking capabilities to hospitals and provide consumers and purchasers of health care with information they want on the quality and safety of their hospitals.  Our employer members make this data available to all their enrollees.  They also commit to implement incentives and rewards for safe, high quality and value health care.

Since The Leapfrog Group’s inception in 2000, our initiatives have been built upon the fact that provider performance transparency is critical to the optimal functioning of the health care marketplace.  In August 2006, President Bush signed an Executive Order to help increase health care transparency by encouraging the adoption of health information technology standards, the provision of options that promote quality and efficiency in health, and that pricing and quality information be made publicly available.   (Click here for more information on this Executive Order.)

The Leapfrog Group has two major initiatives that help hospitals meet the growing demand for transparency in health care:
