Use the tools on the left to encourage and thank hospitals for participating in the Leapfrog survey. Use the guides below to assist hospital CEOs to look at performance measurement and pay-for-performance to help improve patient care, quality and organizational results.

Hospital CEO Guide to Performance Measurement - The National Committee for Quality Health Care (NCQHC) developed, through the efforts of NCQHC’s Executive Institute Performance Measurement Task Force, a hospital CEO Survival Guide for performance measurement. This guide provides hospital CEOs with useful tools to look at how performance measurement can help to improve patient care, quality and organizational results. The Task Force reviewed many of the existing performance measurement requirements from organizations such as Leapfrog, the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and a variety of statewide initiatives and identified a number of key activities and tools that hospital executives can use to support their work and leadership in performance measurement and the delivery of quality care for their organizations.

CEO Survival Guide for P4P - NCQHC's Task Force on Pay for Performance suggests that healthcare executives and governing boards should begin immediately to develop a plan for responding to P4P. This plan should identify strategies that will maximize both organizational and community health system performance under P4P.

The Task Force developed a CEO Survival Guide to Pay for Performance and easy-to-use Tools for Executives to:

  • Make sense of the vast amount of information available on pay for performance for healthcare executives and board members.
  • Provide a strategic framework for provider organizations to respond to pay for performance.
  • Provide Tools for Executives to use to communicate this imperative easily and effectively to stakeholders.
