The Regional Roll-Out Online Reference Tool includes links to national and local grantmakers hospitals, consumer groups, health plans, and purchasing coalitions. RRO Stakeholders can use this resource in developing and implementing their action plan.

Foundations/Grantmakers

The Foundation Center offers basic information on grantmakers in the U.S. including private foundations, community foundations, grantmaking public charities, and corporate giving programs. http://lnp.fdncenter.org/finder.html

Grantmakers in Health is a nonprofit, educational organization dedicated to helping foundations and corporate giving programs improve the health of all people. Its mission is to foster communication and collaboration among grantmakers and others, and to help strengthen the grantmaking community's knowledge, skills, and effectiveness. www.gih.org 

The Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers (the Forum) is a national philanthropic leader and a network of 32 regional associations of grantmakers. It supports philanthropy by strengthening the ability of all regional associations to fulfill their missions; these associations promote the growth and effectiveness of philanthropy in order to improve life in their communities. www.givingforum.org

Hospitals

The American Hospital Directory provides online data for over 6,000 hospitals. Their database of information about hospitals is built from both public and private sources including Medicare claims data (MedPAR and OPPS), hospital cost reports, and other files obtained from the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). www.ahd.com

The American Hospital Association (AHA) is the national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities.  www.aha.org

HospitalConnect links together the Internet sites for dozens of organizations serving health care providers. users are able to search all sites within the portal with a single entry. www.hospitalconnect.com

Health Plans

Atlantic Information Services is a publishing and information company. It develops data and strategic information for managers in hospitals, health plans, medical group practices, pharmaceutical companies and other health care. www.aishealth.com

America’s Health Insurance Plans is the national association representing nearly 1,300 member companies providing health insurance coverage to more than 200 million Americans. http://www.aahp.org

Consumer Organizations

The Consumer Coalition was formed in 1993 to focus attention on quality and consumer issues within the context of federal health care reform. www.consumers.org

The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization, The Joint Commission accredits and certifies more than 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. www.jointcommission.org

Public Citizen-Health Research Group promotes research-based, system-wide changes in health care policy and provides oversight concerning drugs, medical devices, doctors and hospitals and occupational health. www.citizen.org/hrg/

Purchasing Coalitions

The National Business Coalition on Health is a national, non-profit, membership organization of employer-based health care coalitions. www.nbch.org

IFEBP Directory of Health Care Purchasing Coalitions features 24 healthcare purchasing coalitions who are primarily multiemployer trust funds or public trust funds. www.ifebp.org/Resources/Research/
