Leapfrog Invites State Purchasers To Become Members The Leapfrog Group is a coalition aimed at mobilizing purchasers to advance an agenda aligned with that of Value-Driven Health Care: quality and price transparency, incentives and rewards, interoperable HIT and patient safety. A leading and influential national voice, Leapfrog's membership has historically consisted predominantly of large private employers, but some state purchasers have been involved for many years. Leapfrog recognizes that Medicaid and state employee benefits agencies are increasingly pursuing many of the same improvements in health care as private employers. Leapfrog further recognizes the significant size of these state purchasers and the potential benefit of aligning the forces of private and public health care purchasers to improve the health care system. In an effort to help private and state purchasers learn from one another and assist one other in their value-based purchasing implementation efforts, The Leapfrog Group is undertaking a new proactive initiative to invite state purchasers to become Leapfrog members. Recognizing the resource limitations faced by states, Leapfrog offers a drastically reduced dues structure for states and allows a state's membership to apply to all of its health purchasing agencies.
