The Leapfrog Group sent comments supporting the work the Office of the National Coordinator for Healthcare Information Technology (ONC) is doing to investigate the possibility of creating a national patient identifier based on the ONC's working session held on June 1, 2020. Patient misidentification is a serious patient safety issue that needs to be addressed at the national level and Leapfrog fully supports these efforts.
