Each year, The Leapfrog Group asks every adult and free-standing pediatric general acute-care hospital and Ambulatory Surgery Center in the U.S. to voluntarily complete the Leapfrog Hospital Survey and the Leapfrog ASC Survey.
The Leapfrog Group’s standards are updated annually to reflect the latest science and are designed to drive better outcomes for patients. Results are publicly reported by individual bricks-and-mortar facilities. Leapfrog uses the Survey data to track and share facilities’ progress on key issues of safety and quality.
Patient Experience During the Pandemic
Patient Experience During the Pandemic is a new three-part series examining patient experience pre-pandemic and mid-pandemic in three different settings of care: facilities that provide same-day surgeries, adult inpatient hospitals, and hospitals that treat pediatric patients. The first report, Outpatient Surgical Care found more favorable patient experience ratings in ASCs than hospital outpatient settings, and hint at pandemic-related patient safety lapses.
